Lougheed House was the centre of Calgary's social scene in 1891. Imagine a snowy winter day, just before Christmas, Senator James Alexander Lougheed at work in his festively decorated study, fire roaring and greeting his business associates for a little Christmas cheer.

In memory of the many Christmases celebrated in the Lougheed home, we are commenmorating the "highs" of peace and prosperity, and remembering the "lows" of war time. We have split the room in two, portraying a tribute to both eras of Christmas and decorating. Both rooms achieve a similar design but with two very different budgets. The room on the left was decorated and styled for $60,000 and the room on the right was decorated and styled for $10,000. Can you see the difference?
